Q. As a frequent international traveler, what is your favorite place?
Anywhere people are telling stories: chatting in a coffee shop; sitting around a firepit or on a comfy couch; in hip-to-hip seats flying at 30,000 ft. Where two or more are gathered to share tales of adventure or venting about the day’s mishaps and blessings. I believe we are hardwired to process stories. We learn life lessons best through story, then distill the lessons down into propositions. I also believe God orchestrates our daily circumstances into ongoing stories, that at their heart, are about His intervention and involvement with His beloved children. Yes, I also like written stories (books) but prefer the organic live tellings. Hence, libraries are not one of my favorite places!
Q. What is the difference between a mundane mission and one of high adventure?
In respect to searching for God to clarify His character, nothing! You can gain a new perspective of Him when repeating daily chores or when viewing a beautiful new landscape. His faithfulness, His creativity, ALL of Him is always on display! He shows up in all experiences. Bible study highlights this dichotomy. In the lives of Isaac’s son Joseph and King David, God was with them as they worked to shepherd flocks and as they wielded power in palaces.
It is my passion to search out common objects in different contexts like global markets. I attend to cultural differences, but relish in the shared goals of quality craftsmanship and design, both reflective of mankind’s shared image of God. I am all about searching the scriptures to see what the Bible reveals about God through the stories of the mundane or adventurous, because I experience both and want to recognize how God works in either. Join me. I believe we will discover unexpected aspects of our immanent God than we have previously encountered.
